One of the greatest rock and roll icons of the twentieth century is, of course, Elvis Presley – the King of Rock and Roll. Elvis had first shot to stardom in the 1950s, but by the Sixties he was starring in a lot of Hollywood films, primarily musical comedies. Elvis’s music was less successful, and less like by the King, during this time. Only two of eight singles released between January 1967 and May 68 made it into the top 40, and neither went higher than 28.

In 1987, almost five years after the release of his previous album, Thriller, Michael Jackson released his seventh studio album, Bad. The album was, and probably still is, a huge commercial success, even if it didn’t do as well as Thriller in terms of total sales, selling millions of copies around the world, being one of the top 30 best-selling albums of all time, and having five Billboard Hot 100 number one singles, one of currently only two albums to do so, and the first to achieve it. It was also critically acclaimed and often makes lists of the greatest albums of all time.

1980s Costume Idea – Michael Jackson’s Thriller Outfit
Here’s a musical idea for a costume from the Eighties for Halloween or a theme party.
One of the most iconic albums of the 1980s was undoubtedly Michael Jackson’s Thriller, the artist’s sixth studio album. The titular single was the seventh single released from the album, and there was a thirteen minute music video entitled Michael Jackson’s Thriller, considered to be the most influential music video of all time and the first to be inducted in the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress.
